We are a family who operate two care homes for people over 65. We work closely with all of our staff and the families we support. We find that this way we know who everyone is and so can provide a friendly and supportive working environment. This in turn allows us to maintain high levels of care as we can be responsive to both staff teams and resident’s needs.
Nurse
The Role – Here is an opportunity to be part of our nursing team in ensuring the highest levels of care are delivered! As a nurse you will be working closely with the manager and directors, to develop the skills of the care team, using your personal and professional experience to make sure those we care for have all the support they need.
You will be responsible for:
• Delivering positive experiences to those we care for • Deliver medications • Write care plans • Work closely with other health professionals to develop treatment plans • Be involved in review processes of residents • Support the care team to develop their practice
What we need from you:
• Motivated to ensure that high quality care and support is provided to those we look after • Work well as part of a close team with an interest in developing your knowledge • Have a valid Pin with NMC

Cook
The Role – As our Cook / Kitchen Assistant you will be responsible for agreeing with the service user their preferences, special diets and foods and liaising with the head chef and manager before inputting this into the menus.
In addition to this you will:
• Order supplies for the catering operation, ensuring that the stock levels are sufficient in line with costs • Ensure all equipment supplied is used with care • Ensure all equipment is in good working order, reporting any faults or concerns • Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported • Induct new starts in accordance with Mains House Policy • Lead, motivate and direct staff
What we need from you:
Although we would love it if you had an SVQ in cookery we will accept applications from anyone who has previous experience working in a similar role and has a passion for cooking!
