Restaurant of the week

Stack and Still, Braehead

-

Location

Situated within Braehead Shopping Centre, it’s the ideal pitstop for a bite to eat as you pick up presents ahead of Christmas.

First Impressions

With booth seating, and lots of bright colours, it’s warm and welcoming. And great for all ages. After all, everyone loves a pancake!

Service

A friendly waitress finds us a table and gives us time to work through the menu before returning to take our order. Food and drinks arrive piping hot and promptly.

Menu

It’s big! With sweet and savoury pancakes of all descriptions, the hardest bit about dining at Stack and Still is narrowing down the choices. The signature savouries range from breakfast and barbecue brisket to chicken and chipolte pulled pork, and the sweets from peanut butter to peaches and cream. If you don’t fancy any of those, you can create your own, choosing the type of pancake, size of stack and toppings.

Taste

We opt for the Nutella Double Stack: two buttermilk pancakes smothered in hot Nutella and caramel sauce with Crunchie, chocolate buttons and mascarpone on top. It’s definitely not one for the dieters, but delicious if you are treating yourself. And it’s a meal and dessert in one, right? My fellow diner has the much healthier option of fresh berries and syrup which is eaten with a big smile on her face throughout. I can only guess it was delicious.

Ambience

It’s easy, fast food – but in a restaurant setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, and the relaxed atmosphere.

Price

Our bill came in at just over £20 for two, including drinks. Cheap and cheerful.
