Dan Evans could be a doubt for Wimbledon after suffering a calf injury while playing Dustin Brown in the quarter-finals of the Aegon Surbiton Trophy yesterday. Evans was leading 6-3, 4-2 when, after returning a Brown serve, he pushed off on his left leg and began hopping in pain. Evans said: “I just pushed off on a return and sort of heard and felt something go.” He will have a scan tomorrow.

England’s Graeme Storm struck a disastrous threeover-par 75, including a double bogey on the par-four seventh to drop to 10th at four under after the third round of the Lyoness Open in Austria. Chile’s Felipe Aguilar retained his two-shot lead on nine under. Meanwhile, Tiger Woods told police he had taken the anti-anxiety drug Xanax when he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant in Florida last month, golf.channel.com reported.

England women beat Switzerlan­d 4-0 in a friendly in Biel. Meanwhile, Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus sustained a broken eye socket during Brazil’s 1-0 loss to Argentina on Friday, it was confirmed yesterday. He will not play in Tuesday’s friendly with Australia.
