Player ratings: England

- By Daniel Schofield at Twickenham

7 Elliot Daly

For all his lack of authority under the high ball, there is no doubting his class. His footwork is bewitching.

7 Jonny May

Only puzzle was how he failed to score as he was involved in virtually every other aspect, including as distributor.

7 Jamie George

Fewer pyrotechnics than usual, yet did his part in setting the platform for the loose forwards and back division to run riot.

8 Tom Curry

Perceived as a scavenger but showed his value as a link player in the wide channels and scored best try of match.

8 Joe Cokanasiga

Never mind the feebleness of the tackling, he is becoming a finisher of the highest order. Is going to be mighty hard to drop.

8 George Ford

Much improved from last week with his great mate outside him. Provided key passes for early set-piece scores and kicking.

9 Kyle Sinckler

Rubber stamped his status as the world’s best tighthead. No less ferocious in the loose than in the scrum.

8 Sam Underhill

The twin-openside tactic has to go down as a success. Set much of the tone for English physical dominance at the breakdown.

9 Manu Tuilagi

Irresistible. When he was not running over the top of players, he was drawing defenders like moths to a light bulb.

6 Ben Youngs

Not quite on point. Kicked out on the full twice and passing lacked crispness, but team did not suffer as a result.

9 Maro Itoje

Beat up Ireland’s pack, whether that was in the tackle, at the line-out or at the breakdown. Sealed performance with a try.

7 Billy Vunipola

Significant that England could be so dominant without him firing on all cylinders. Now needs a rest after three starts.

8 Owen Farrell

Not as conspicuous as many of the backs, but made all the difference with his distribution. England’s safety blanket.

8 Joe Marler

Mako Vunipola’s absence was barely noticed. Part of a dominant scrum and put in some thundering tackles.

7 George Kruis

After Ireland disrupted his early line-out calls, he turned the tables on the Irish set-piece and came up with a second-half try.

Replacements

Willi Heinz (for Youngs 54) 6 Luke Cowan-Dickie (George 54) 7 Courtney Lawes (Curry 58) 6 Mark Wilson (Underhill 58) 6 Dan Cole (Sinckler 60) 6 Mako Vunipola (Marler 61-78) 6 Piers Francis (Farrell 68) 6 Joe Marchant (Tuilagi 71) 6
