Wrestler claims $115m in damages over sex tape
A Florida jury has awarded wrestler Hulk Hogan $115 million (£79 million) in damages after finding the website Gawker violated his privacy by publishing a tape of him having sex with his former best friend’s wife.
In a case closely followed by other celebrities, Hogan, whose given name is Terry Bollea, sued Gawker on the basis that the tape was a violation of his privacy. Gawker argued that they showed the video to highlight the mundanity of celebrity sex videos.
