Sydney switches off to battle climate change
Cities on Australia’s east coast were among the first in the world to turn lights out last night for the 10th annual Earth Hour, a global event highlighting the threat of climate change.
The Sydney Opera House switched off its lights at 8.30pm, along with the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Over 350 landmarks across the world including the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building and Taipei 101 will take part.
