The first primetime British drama to feature two black leads. Sophie Okonedo and Adrian Lester will star in this political thriller, which will take BBC One’s 9pm Sunday-night slot after The Night Manager finishes.

The A Word

Beginning on Tuesday, in the slot vacated by Happy Valley, Christophe­r Eccleston stars in this drama about a couple coming to terms with their son’s autism.

The Hollow Crown

Benedict Cumberbatc­h will play Richard III in the latest instalment of The Hollow Crown, expected to air in late April, which will also feature Dame Judi Dench.

Taboo

Oscarnomin­ated Tom Hardy will star in this tale of a rogue 19thcentur­y British adventurer who sets out to build a shipping empire. Sir Ridley Scott is an executive producer.
