Diplomat defector ‘is human scum’

North Korean state media yesterday accused a diplomat who defected from Britain to South Korea of a variety of crimes, including child rape and embezzlement.

On Wednesday South Korea announced that Thae Yong-ho, whom the North branded “human scum”, had arrived with his family. The Communist KCNA news agency said Britain had tainted its image by “handing over the fugitives”.
