Crowds hail new Gambian leader

Thousands gathered yesterday for the inauguration of Gambia’s new president as the West African nation celebrated wider freedoms after a tense stand-off with its former leader. Several heads of state attended the ceremony for Adama Barrow, who has pledged to reverse many of the actions strongman leader Yahya Jammeh took across two decades of rule.
