Michelangelo and Sebastiano
This show focuses on the “creative partnership” between one of art’s truly great names and the less well-known figure of Sebastiano del Piombo. Two pivotal early works of Michelangelo – the white marble roundel of the Taddei Tondo, and the Pieta from St Peter’s in Rome – are thrilling to see, while the paintings of Sebastiano reveal an artist who excelled at dramatically lit, monumental compositions.
