Woman ‘hit with pram’ by male flight attendant

A MALE flight attendant has been suspended after being accused of hitting a woman with a pram, just missing the baby in her arms, in another incident on a United States domestic flight.

The aftermath of the fracas aboard an American Airlines jet was captured in a video which showed the attendant nearly becoming involved in a fight with a passenger who intervened.

Flight 591 was preparing to take off from San Francisco for Dallas on Friday when a dispute arose over whether the woman, who had two children with her, could bring a pram on board.

Witnesses said the steward “violently” removed it from her, hitting her in the process. A video posted on Facebook by passenger Surain Adyanthaya showed the woman sobbing. A voice could be heard saying: “He smacked her in the face with the stroller.”

American Airlines said the steward had been suspended and apologised to the woman, who it was taking “special care of ”. Dr David Dao, 69, was injured this month while being physically dragged off a United Airlines flight.
