Scythians

The Sunday Telegraph - - Arts -

In the days of ancient Greece and Rome, these formidable Scythians – precursors of the Mongols and the Huns – roamed the steppes. Evidence of their culture was long believed lost, until the objects seen in this exhibition were found beneath the Siberian permafrost. They take us inside the totemic mind of the original “threat from the East”. Mark Hudson British Museum, London WC1 (020 7323 8299), until Jan 14
