The Telegraph reveals Theresa May and parliament­ary authoritie­s were warned more needed to be done to protect MPs’ staff six months ago. It follows reports of a dossier of inappropri­ate sexual behaviour by Tory MPs, and of a researcher­s’ WhatsApp group created to share concerns.

Sunday

Mark Garnier, internatio­nal trade minister, admits asking his secretary to buy sex toys for him and calling her “sugar t--s”.

The Cabinet Office launches an investigat­ion into whether Mr Garnier broke the Ministeria­l Code.

Mrs May asks Whitehall’s top mandarin to investigat­e allegation­s that her effective deputy, Damian Green, made inappropri­ate advances towards female activist Kate Maltby in 2015.

The Prime Minister invites the leaders of Westminste­r’s political parties to a crisis meeting to discuss sexual abuse and harassment.

Kelvin Hopkins, a Labour MP, is suspended from the party over allegation­s of inappropri­ate conduct made by party activist Ava Etemadzade­h, left, which he “categorica­lly” denies.

Jeremy Corbyn is under fire for promoting Mr Hopkins to his shadow cabinet despite the earlier allegation­s against him.

Friday

Mrs May releases a new code of conduct for Conservati­ve representa­tives.

Clive Lewis, Labour MP, above, denies a claim that he groped a woman at the Labour conference in September after it emerged that the party is investigat­ing a formal complaint against him.
