Man dies after being shot and stabbed in the street

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was shot and stabbed in a street in north London.

The man, in his 20s, was found with stab wounds and a suspected gunshot wound in South Street, Enfield.

Officers were called to reports of shots fired around 12.40am yesterday and the man died at the scene little more than half an hour later.

His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place.

Another man, also in his 20s, was found with stab injuries and was taken to an east London hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
