Korean leaders to set up telephone hotline
North and South Korea yesterday held talks to establish a secret phoneline between their leaders.
The meeting between officials at a border village were part of preparatory discussions to set up the April 27 summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in.
It is hoped the meeting – the third summit between the Koreas since the end of the Korean War in 1953 – could prove to be significant in the global push to resolve the stand-off over North Korea’s nuclear program.
