GHISLAINE MAXWELL A YEAR IN HIDING

Ghislaine Maxwell read books by Boris Johnson and the lawyer representi­ng Jeffrey Epstein victims during her year in hiding, a close friend has claimed.

Ms Maxwell was arrested on Thursday in Bradford, New Hampshire, on sex traffickin­g charges, after spending 12 months trying to avoid the authoritie­s.

The 58-year-old passed the time cooking, exercising and reading, her friends said, with choices including the Prime Minister’s biography of Winston Churchill, The Churchill Factor: How One Man Made History,

and Relentless Pursuit: My Fight for the Victims of Jeffrey Epstein, by the victims’ attorney, Bradley Edwards, in which she is prominentl­y featured.

The disgraced British socialite received death threats on social media and in the post during her year under the radar, her friends also claimed.

“It’s the volume of threats. These are credible threats,” an anonymous friend told Vanity Fair.

The threats reportedly resulted in Miss Maxwell having to hire profession­al security guards.
