I’ll be backing up … one hurt in Arnie crash
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has been involved in a car crash that resulted in a woman being taken to hospital.
Images from the scene in Los Angeles showed the former California governor’s black GMC Yukon SUV on top of two other cars.
A spokesman for the 74-year-old former bodybuilder confirmed he had been driving his vehicle at the time.
The spokesman said: “He is fine. His only concern right now is for the woman who was injured.”
Emergency services said that the woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The crash, which involved four vehicles, happened on Sunset Boulevard, near a school in the Brentwood neighbourhood. It took place about a mile from Schwarzenegger’s home on Friday afternoon.
A police spokesman said: “There was a collision about 4.35pm on Sunset and Allenford Avenue. It was a four-vehicle traffic collision.
“Fire departments and paramedics transported one female to a local hospital with an abrasion to her head.”
They added: “Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as a factor in this and all parties remained at the scene.”
The crash happened at a junction and it was not immediately clear whether anyone was at fault. Schwarzenegger’s vehicle rolled on top of a red Toyota Prius and a Porsche Cayenne.
An eyewitness said the incident was “crazy” and “looked like a stunt in a movie”.
The woman taken to hospital was reported to have been driving the Prius, which ended up wedged under Schwarzenegger’s vehicle.
Schwarzenegger was photographed at the scene talking to a police officer.
He was casually dressed, wearing sunglasses, and appeared unharmed.
Shortly before the crash the Terminator star had been seen having lunch at a restaurant a short drive away with two of his adult children.
