Tonight

7pm-8pm: ITV Leaders Debate, hosted by Julie Etchingham, featuring the five contenders. Tomorrow 2pm-3.30pm: 1922 hustings – The candidates pitch to hundreds of Tory MPs. 5pm–7pm: MPs vote in the third round of the contest. 8pm: Sir Graham Brady, the chairman of the 1922 Committee, announces the result; one candidate is eliminated. 8.30pm: Four remaining candidates to be grilled at hustings organised by the anti-Woke Common Sense Group of Tory MPs.

10pm: MPs vote on whether they have confidence in the Government. Tuesday Noon-2pm: MPs vote for one of the remaining candidates in fourth round of the contest. 3pm: Sir Graham Brady announces the result. 7pm: Sky News hosts the final leaders debate between the remaining three candidates. Wednesday Noon: Boris Johnson’s final Prime Minister’s Questions. 1pm-3pm: MPs vote for one of the three candidates in the fifth and final ballot of the contest. 4pm: Sir Graham Brady announces the names of the two MPs who will be on the ballot paper sent to party members. If the result for last place is tied a ballot will be held immediatel­y. Thursday

MPs break for the summer recess. Conservati­ve Central Office takes over the process of enabling the party’s 200,000 members to select a new leader. July/August

Up to 12 hustings, that will enable party members to question the candidates, will be staged, online and in person. Mon Sept 5 New Conservati­ve Party leader and prime minister announced. Wed Sept 7 The new prime minister faces Sir Keir Starmer, the Labour leader, at Prime Minister’s Questions.
