What is Islamic State?

-

The terrorist group that calls itself Islamic State (IS) has been fighting in Syria and Iraq for six years, because it wants to control territory. Recently it has been losing ground to different forces who want to defeat the group. IS tries to inspire people in other countries to commit terrorist acts – as has happened in London. It thinks people should live according to very strict Islamic values. The vast majority of Muslims, however, do not agree with the actions of IS and say that it has completely misunderstood Islam.
