Available on DVD, Blu-ray, iTunes and the Google Play store It was recently revealed that Angry Birds 2 will be flying into cinemas in 2019. Films based on video games are nothing new: the first high-profile film based on a computer game arrived almost a quarter of a century ago. Super Mario Bros was released in 1993 and remains one of the worst videogame-inspired films ever made. Nintendo (which created the game) left the filmmakers pretty much alone when they were making it. The company has been wary of letting people make films of its games since. The film is a hard one to recommend, but it is worth watching, just to see the special effects. If you’re looking for something that in any way captures the adventures of Mario and Luigi, though, this definitely isn’t it.
