TAPESTRY
Tapestry was set up in 1949 to help a local council in Havering, Greater London, cater for its ageing population. Every week, it puts on social events such as lunches with games, snooker clubs and regular swimming classes for those who have suffered strokes. It also organises day trips to destinations around the country. The charity’s main aim is to encourage and enable everyone to feel independent and lead positive, fulfilling lives.
