Continent’s largest gallery opens
Africa’s biggest contemporary art gallery has opened in Cape Town. The gallery, called The
Zeitz Museum of Contemporary
Art Africa, has been designed by the UK’s Thomas Heatherwick, and features a giant rubber flying dragon by South African artist Nicholas HloboIt. The gallery cost £28 million to create, and has artworks spread across nine floors. African passport holders will enjoy free entry at certain times.
