PLACE OF THE WEEK
Aira Force, Cumbria
For the past 300 years, visitors have been drawn from near and far to Aira Force – one of the most famous waterfalls in Cumbria’s Lake District. The falls are more than 20 metres tall, and people are able to stand on the bridge that crosses them and stare over the edge for a clear view right to the very bottom.
There are also plenty of nature walks. Aira Force is one of the very few places in England where red squirrels can be spotted.
