What do they discuss?
For five days during the session, world leaders and representatives contribute to a general debate. Although it is called a debate, it is actually a chance for world leaders to discuss what’s going on around the planet. This year, one of the most important topics was the threat from North Korea, following missile tests carried out by the country. Another topic was the environment, after a number of deadly hurricanes struck the Caribbean and the US.
