What does the GA achieve?
Every year, the UN General Assembly works to find solutions to the world’s problems. These solutions are often decided after the GA debate. For example, in 2015 all 193 countries agreed to the Sustainable Development Goals. The goals include getting rid of hunger, giving everyone access to clean water and education for all. However, some people don’t think the General Assembly is doing enough. Some people say that the GA debate is simply an opportunity for world leaders to show off.
