Oral-b Pro 3000 The Pro 3000 is an excellent-value all-rounder. Quiet and comfortabl­e to hold, it does a good job of breaking down plaque. You’ll need to charge it about every ten days, though (£45; www. amazon.co.uk). Philips Sonicare Diamondcle­an The benchmark for electric toothbrush­es, the Diamondcle­an is superb at cleaning teeth efficientl­y and removing plaque. It uses sonic technology (rather than an electric motor), vibrating at up to 31,000 brush strokes per minute (£125; www. boots.com).
