Cold in July (2014) Twisty thriller set in Texas. Michael C. Hall plays a protective father who confronts a burglar, with fateful consequenc­es. Sun 26 March, BBC2 10pm (105mins).

High-rise (2015) Tom Hiddleston stars in this adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s novel set in a state-of-the-art 1970s tower block. The reviews were mixed, but it’s certainly a visual treat. Wed 29 March, Film4 9pm (140mins).
