The Archers: what happened last week

David asks Tony if it’s true that Justin’s planning to build a housing estate at Bridge Farm. Tony denies it. Freddie returns from the festival with an eyebrow piercing, to Elizabeth’s fury. Pat confronts Susan for spreading rumours concerning the development. Susan says the village needs to know. Leonie and James arrive for Lynda’s birthday and have a row. Leonie admits to Lynda that she’s kicked James out. Lynda begs them to try again for Mungo’s sake, but James leaves for Lilian’s, saying it’s over. Tom and Helen convince Tony to sell the land. Josh tells David his business is taking off and he won’t have time to study. When David insists he’ll have to find time, Josh admits that he’s given up his university place. Justin tells James a happy relationship is worth the effort, and offers him funds to win Leonie back. James announces he’s returning to London. Lilian wonders what’s changed, but Justin denies giving him money. Tom and Kirsty go for a walk to mark what would have been the week their son was born. They clash over the land deal. Kirsty is shocked that Tom’s selling to Justin. Matt tells Tom the Bridge Farm land could be worth far more than Justin is offering.
