Confusion over inquiry:

President Trump has confirmed for the first time that he is personally under federal investigation for alleged obstruction of justice, in relation to the sacking of FBI director James Comey. “I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director! Witch Hunt,” the president tweeted on Friday. The tweet appeared to confirm a Washington Post story claiming that the special counsel looking into Russian interference in the 2016 election, Robert Mueller, was now also investigating whether Trump obstructed justice by sacking Comey in an effort to thwart the FBI’S Russia inquiry. However, Trump’s lawyer, Jay Sekulow, flatly denied that this was the case, before creating yet more confusion by admitting he couldn’t be sure.
