Harder line on Cuba:

-

President Trump has reversed key parts of the deal that Barack Obama made with Cuba aimed at normalising relations between the two countries. Speaking to a supportive crowd of Cuban-americans, including many veteran anti-castro campaigners, in Little Havana, Miami, Trump dismissed the deal as “terrible” and “completely one-sided”. He went on to announce a partial retightening of restrictions on travel and trade between the US and Cuba, citing a worsening human rights situation in Cuba as the reason for the shift. But though he claimed to be “cancelling” Obama’s deal, Trump will leave some key measures in place: embassies in Havana and Washington will remain open, and cruises and direct commercial flights between the two countries will continue.
