Albariño Robaliño, Señorío de Rubiós, Orixe Rías Baixas 2016 (12.5%)
I’m a huge fan of Albariño wines from the Galician area of North West Spain. Señorío de Rubiós produces rich wines with hints of pear, mingled with tropical notes but ending with a refreshingly citric aftertaste. Part of the secret is that the Albariño grape has a thick skin to withstand the damp climate, contributing to the complexity of the flavours. It has immediate drinkability, but if you’re able to resist, then it will actually improve with age.
