President Trump wanted to be sworn in on a copy of his book The Art of the Deal rather than the Bible, claims a former aide – as he thought it “the greatest business book of all time”, and because he hoped to boost its sales. Omarosa Manigault Newman also recalls him eating a document after a meeting with Michael Cohen, then his lawyer: “Since Trump was ever the germophobe, I was shocked... It must have been something very, very sensitive.” Meanwhile, Kathleen Turner has described what it’s like to meet Trump. “He goes to shake your hand and his index finger kind of rubs the inside of your wrist,” says the actress. “He’s trying to do some kind of seductive move. You pull your hand away and go ‘yuck’.” Lindsay Lohan may be a Hollywood celebrity, but when she was bitten by a snake on a hiking holiday in Thailand last year, she reacted as anyone would. “I called my shaman,” said the star of Mean Girls, “and she told me that the bite was actually a blessing.”

Alan Johnson and his wife were left stranded when the cruise liner on which he was lecturing set sail from Gothenburg without them. “Usually the ship sails at 5.30pm, but this time it was four o’clock. We were distraught,” he told the Daily Mail. Clad only in a T-shirt and shorts, the former home secretary had to take a plane back to the UK. “Clearly, like so many Labour MPS, he thought he could walk on water,” said a fellow passenger. “On this occasion he couldn’t.”
