The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may be taking legal action against society bible Tatler, over a new profile of the Duchess. The article – described by a Palace insider as ridden with “class snobbery” – says Kate exudes an “aura of blandness”; that she struggled to fit into the Firm because her mother was viewed as “NQOCD” (Not Quite Our Class, Darling); and that the couple’s Norfolk home isn’t an “aristo abode”. A source told the magazine: “It’s very Buckingham­shire.”

He was known as the French Elvis; she, the grande dame of French cinema – yet somehow Johnny Hallyday and Catherine Deneuve managed to conduct a lifelong romance in secret, a new book claims. The biography, by Gilles Lhote, says Hallyday – a notorious womaniser – and Deneuve became lovers while starring in Les Parisienne­s as teenagers, carrying on their secret trysts almost until his death in 2017. Even after five marriages and almost six decades, his feelings for her remained. “Catherine remains the great and beautiful love of the 18-year-old me,” he is quoted as saying.

TV star and model Kylie Jenner has been struck off Forbes magazine’s list of billionair­es after reportedly blowing as much as $130m in a year. The 22-year-old’s spending spree is said to have included $50m on a private jet she had fitted out “in the theme of daughter Stormi’s birthday”, and another $36.5m on a mansion in Los Angeles, and a plot in Palm Springs. Reportedly, even her sisters are concerned about her spending. “Yes, she’s got a lot of money,” a source told the New York Post, “but she doesn’t seem to realise how easy it is to blow through all of it.”
