The Archers: what happened last week

-

Freddie is trying, and failing, to fix a broken toilet, while putting off reading a letter from Lynda. Tracy’s still annoyed at Susan over the radio incident and her attempts to poach cricket team members for the pub quiz. Elizabeth spots Ifty at one of Kate’s Zoom yoga classes, and he texts suggesting they video chat. He’s looking good and she finds herself thinking about him. Could it be the start of something? Looking for plumbing parts in the attic, Freddie finds the Ghost Stories painting of Lynda, and finally reads her letter: it’s a heartfelt apology for her outburst in the hospital. Meanwhile, Susan and Tracy continue to vie for quiz team members, irritating everyone. Emma holds the fort at Grange Farm, while Ed is shearing, and is pleased with herself for successfully turning the hay. Susan’s nerves kick in on quiz night, so she has a drink to steady them, which muddles her even more. Ed ducks out of the quiz and is much happier chilling at home; he’s also grateful for his resourceful wife. Elizabeth is underwhelmed by her online date with Ifty, but it makes her realise she doesn’t want to be alone forever. Hungover Susan feels a bit sheepish after the quiz – it went OK, but she needs to put things right with Tracy and after a long chat, the sisters are back on track. Freddie’s delighted he’s fixed the plumbing, and having spotted Lynda at the quiz, he finally writes back to her, signing off with love.
