PM gets together with Charvil Village Fete

-

DALEKS, Doctor Who and even the Prime Minister turned out for the village fete in Charvil last weekend.

Theresa May, who is MP for the village, joined in the festivities at the fete’s new location in Park Lane on Saturday, which saw hundreds of people come along to enjoy the sunshine and have lots of fun.

Refreshments were provided courtesy of Emma’s Kitchen, from Twyford, and local traders set up stalls in the Pavilion grounds for visitors to browse.

A bouncy slide and castle, miniature railway and Steam Traction Engine kept the children amused, while sci-fi fans were treated to a glimpse inside the Tardis and a selfie with a Dalek.

A spokesperson for the Parish Council and fete’s organising committee said: “The change of venue was a great success providing more room on a flat surface.

“We closed the fete with Theresa May joining us for the Jo Cox Foundation’s Great Get Together.”
