Talk like an Egyptian

-

A LOCAL group that specialises in life in Egyptian times is planning two lectures over the coming months.

The Thames Valley

Ancient Egypt Society

(Oxon, Berks, Bucks) is moving to Coronation

Hall for the talks, which take place on Saturday afternoons from 2pm.

The first is an additional lecture to the published programme and sees Dr Susanne Onstine explore the life and death of Thebans from the 19th Dynasty through to the Hellenistic Era using epigraphic and archaeological evidence from this remarkable tomb.

This takes place on Saturday, July 8.

Then, after a summer break, the group returns on Saturday, September 9, with an illustrated presentation in which Sarah Griffiths explores the reign and legacy of Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II of the 11th Dynasty, a pharaoh revered by later kings as one of the greatest Egyptian rulers:.

Entry is £3 to each session.
