Twyford victory leaves Beamish smiling

STEVE BEAMISH took five wickets as Twyford and Ruscombe recorded a convincing win over Crowthorne and Crown Wood 2s in Division 2.

Crowthorne batted first and while Dan Crinnion hit 30 not out, his side were dismissed for 139 with Andrew Baines (28) and Simon Sheppard (20) the other notable scorers.

That was down in no small part to the brilliant bowling from Beamish, posting figures of 5-35, while Akshay Apte’s 3-25 also helped set up the win.

And unbeaten knocks from

Robin Thompson (64no) and Shiva Nagam (29no) ensured it would be a comfortabl­e afternoon for thirdplace­d Twyford, winning by seven wickets.

WALTHAM ST LAWRENCE sit top of the league after a narrow 17-run success against Warfield.

Waltham, who are unbeaten this season, struggled with the bat and were bowled out for 150 with Sid Sainani (41) and Ankush Gandhi (38) top scoring.

But they stepped up with the ball to force through the victory, dismissing Warfield for 133 as Siva Kumar (5-37) and Sree Venkata (329) enjoyed a memorable afternoon.

Balaji Panchepake­san posted impressive figures of 5-10 to help WOODLEY 2s to a seven-wicket win over EMMBROOK AND BEARWOOD 2s.

Sanjeev Jain hit 67 but Panchepake­san stole the show with his five-wicket haul to bowl out Emmbrook for 134.

And the target was chased down with ease as Upendra Deshpande (55) and Pavan Naragund (48no) led the charge.

SHINFIELD are second in the table after beating EARLEY by four wickets.

Four wickets for Anuraag Shukla and three from Andrew Prowse helped Shinfield dismiss Earley for 157, despite the best efforts of Ollie Johnson (64).

Suneet Basra was the second innings’ top scorer, hitting 54 as Shinfield crossed the winning line in the 27th over.

KNOWL HILL suffered a first defeat of the season in Division 3, going down to leaders West Reading 3s by eight wickets.

Adam Brookman top scored with 34 as Knowl were bowled out for

121 and Reading made light work of the chase.

SHINFIELD 2s sit top of Division 4 after thrashing West Reading 4s by 119 runs.

Shinfield batted first and were bowled out for 209 after Harsha Kolla (57) had reached his half century.

But that proved to be more than enough as Arun Kumar tore into the Reading order, taking five wickets to help bring their innings to an end having scored just 90 runs.

John Humphrey’s unbeaten 79 could not prevent BINFIELD 3s from losing to Sulhamstea­d and Ufton.

Binfield closed on 211-6 with Ram Devarakond­a (51) also passing 50, but struggles with the ball ensured Sulhamstea­d reached the target with six wickets in hand.

Nathan Warwick (3-60) was the pick of the bowlers.

Mortimer 2s conceded their clash with CROWTHORNE AND CROWN WOOD 3s while EMMBROOK AND BEARWOOD 3s lost to Sandhurst 2s by eight wickets in the Bye Week Challenge.
