Berk­shire get one over Son­ning in derby

SAM FOX-HAR­VEY scored twice as South Berk­shire won their lo­cal derby with Son­ning 3-1.

Fox-Har­vey’s brace com­bined with a goal from Daniel Ray can­celled out MBBO Re­gional 2 top scorer James Manser’s strike to lift Berks up to third.

Son­ning re­main in mid-ta­ble de­spite the de­feat and go to Ban­bury on Satur­day.

SON­NING 2s sit eighth in Di­vi­sion 1 after a 2-1 loss at Bices­ter while in Di­vi­sion 2, SOUTH BERK­SHIRE 2s were well beaten, go­ing down 4-1 at home to Maiden­head 2s de­spite a goal from Jack Bavey­stock.

It was a dif­fi­cult day right across the board for both Son­ning and South Berk­shire.

Both side’s third teams lost 4-0 in Di­vi­sion 3, while the 4s were also score-less in their re­spec­tive Di­vi­sion 5 clashes.

SOUTH BERK­SHIRE TER­RI­ERS won 3-0 at SON­NING 5s in 8 West and SON­NING 6s were thrashed 7-1 at BA Club 3s in Di­vi­sion 9.

On the women’s side, SON­NING LADIES con­tinue to en­joy a mixed start to life in South Club’s Di­vi­sion 3A, draw­ing 2-2 at strug­gling West Hamp­stead.

So­phie Green­away’s goal came in vain as SON­NING LADIES 2s were beaten 2-1 at Ox­ford Ladies 3s in Trys­ports Premier 1.

SOUTH BERK­SHIRE LADIES 1s slip to fourth in that league after a 1-1 draw with Amer­sham and Chal­font Ladies, for whom Jess Reus net­ted.

Berks 2s lost 3-1 at Thame in Premier 2 while SON­NING 3s are up to sec­ond in Di­vi­sion 1 after a 4-2 win over Mil­ton Keynes 2s.

In Di­vi­sion 3, SOUTH BERK­SHIRE 3s drew 2-2 with Maiden­head 4s, while SON­NING 4s eased past Ox­ford Hawks 6s 4-0 to stay atop Di­vi­sion 4.

Lower down the leagues, Sofia Reina and Claire Owen scored for SOUTH BERK­SHIRE 4s in their

4-0 win at Wy­combe 4s while SON­NING VET­ER­ANS lost 3-1 at home to South Bucks.

SON­NING LADIES 5s lost 3-0 at home to Buck­ing­ham 4s.
