Traffic flowing freely? Erm, really?

Whoever thinks that traffic is flowing following the recent restrictions is living in cloud cuckoo land.

They should try exiting, or trying to get back into Oakey Drive at pretty much any time of the day. It’s usually blocked by people queuing across the roundabout outside Tesco who refuse to leave a gap and seem confused when you indicate to attempt to exit into Oakey Drive.

This oblivious person has clearly never tried to use any local roads recently, if it’s not ‘regeneration’ road restrictions then it’s the peculiar cycleway works along the Wokingham Road.

I am not convinced that all of this expense and chaos will make Wokingham any more than a small market town and will in effect ruin its character, turning it into a clone of every other place with the same shops and cafes.

The money would have been better spent on fixing potholes and funding our local schools. L.J. Hubert, via email
