A COMMUNITY order has been made to a Finchampst­ead driver who who caught over the drink drive limit.

Martyn David Head of Arnett Avenue was stopped by police on January 16 in Wildriding­s Road, Bracknell.

The 31-year-old was found to have 116 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath.

Head pleaded guilty and ordered to take part in 120 hours of community service over the next 12 months, pay costs of £85 and £85 to Victim Services.

A MAN from Arborfield has been given an 12-week suspended sentence for entering a branch of fast-food chain KFC.

Adam Ian Burgess, 21, from Howell Close, was found guilty of stealing keys from the Reading Gate branch of the restaurant on November 8 last year.

At the hearing, at Reading Magistrate­s Court on February 5, Burgess was given the 12-week sentence which is suspended for 18 months, ordered to pay £650 costs and £115 Victim Services charge.

At another hearing on the same day, Burgess was found guilty of stealing two bottles of perfume worth £172 from Boots in Reading, for which he was given a two-week suspended sentence.

A 35-year-old woman from Henleyon-Thames has been given a 24-month conditiona­l discharge after being found guilty of a string of thefts.

On April 24 last year, Becky Street from Noble Road, drove off without paying for petrol worth £27.14 from a garage in Woodley.

On April 10, she stole £283 of alcohol from a branch of Sainsbury’s in Maidenhead, on April 21, she stole a three-pack of curtains worth between £300 and £500 from Next in Maidenhead.

And on May 5, she stole £25.01 of petrol from a garage in Woodely.

In addition to the discharge, Slough Magistrate­s Court, at her hearing on February 5, ordered to pay compensati­on for the value of the goods taken.

A LITTLEWICK GREEN man denies being the owner of a dangerous dog.

Lane appeared before Slough Magistrate­s Court on February 5, accused of owning a border collie called Herne who is thought to be dangerous and not kept under proper control.

Gates has been ordered to appear at Reading Magistrate­s Court for a hearing before a district judge.

This will take place on April 3. A MAN from Earley was found guilty of driving a car without due care and attention.

Two charges were dismissed against at a hearing at Reading Magistrate­s Court on February 7. The first was being the driver of a car that failed to stop in an accident, the second was failing to give name and address to the other driver involved in the incident which took place in Whiteknigh­ts Road, Reading on October 11 last year.

Scott Andrew Johns, 22, of Hutton Close, was found guilty of driving a car without due care and attention.

He was given three points on his licence and fined £120.

He also had to pay £30 to Victim Services.

A MAN from Bracknell has been remanded on bail after pleading not guilty to failing to stop in a Wokingham road.

Jordan Alex James Rolfe, 22, from Bull Lane in Bracknell, denies dangerous driving in Easthampst­ead Road, driving while disqualifi­ed and failing to stop when directed by police.

The incidents took place on January 3 this year.

At a hearing held at Reading Magistrate­s Court on February 7, Rolfe – also known as Jordan James – was given unconditio­nal bail until a hearing which will be held on April 19.

DRIVING while under the influence of alcohol has seen a Cockpole Green man banned from getting behind the wheel for 18 months.

Alexander Collis, 21, from Hatchgate Farm, was found guilty at a hearing on February 8 at Reading Magistrate­s Court.

On January 20, Collis was stopped by police in Wargrave Road, Twyford. A breath test revealed he has 70 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitre­s of breath.

In addition to the ban, he was fined £380, ordered to pay costs of £85 and £38 to Victim Services. He should also undertake a safe driving course, which will reduce his ban by 18 weeks.

A READING woman has been found guilty of racially abusing another woman.

Rebecca Leighton, 38, of Belford Court in Reading has been ordered to pay costs of £155 and £30 to Victim Services as a result of the incident, which took place in Broad Street, Wokingham on May 25 last year.

She was accused of harassing the woman by using threatenin­g, abusing and insulting words.

Leighton had previously pleaded not guilty at a hearing held on January 26, but changed her plea to guilty on February 9.

She was also fined £25 for failing to appear before the court on February 2 and a further £80 for committing an offence while under a conditiona­l discharge order which was given to her on November 1 last year, after being found guilty of assaulting a police officer.
