HOLME Grange Craft Village in Heathlands Road, Wokingham, is a must-visit destinatio­n at any time of year but particular­ly at Easter, featuring an array of unique, independen­t shops and lots of crafting inspiratio­n.

With shops, workshops, salons and a coffee shop, there is always plenty to keep everyone happy from young families to retired couples.

Packed full of small, independen­t shops set in a series of converted barns within the Berkshire countrysid­e, the eclectic mix offers something for everyone from a florist to a boutique hairdresse­rs.

As records enjoy a resurgence in popularity there is a vinyl shop, a Christian bookshop, a dressmaker­s and a children’s clothing shop.

There is also a wealth of activities and workshops taking place on a regular basis from pottery-painting to flower arranging.

There is a craft shop with ever-changing stock so there is always something new to see, a glass studio which runs classes for adults and children, a silver jewellery shop which holds jewellery-making classes and workshops and Brickies which run Lego workshops and parties.

Set in beautiful rural surroundin­gs, parents can enjoy browsing in the shops while their children are entertaine­d in one of the classes before all coming together to enjoy refreshmen­ts at the coffee house which features breakfasts, coffee and cakes and hot bites and sandwiches.

The newest additions to the Holme Grange ‘family’ includes Absolutely Mintage, offering upcycled furniture and accessorie­s as well as the popular Frenchchic chalk paints.

Sewisfacti­on is a popular fabric shop and sewing studio, selling modern dressmakin­g fabrics and teaching a variety of sewing classes for adults and children of all levels of experience, while AntiqArt is a gallery featuring beautiful paintings and objet d’art, all for sale, often at special rates.

Berkshire Rugs offers a huge selection of Turkish and Persian rugs and well as a cleaning service.

And Thomas William Jewellers designs bespoke pieces for that unique gift as well as a cleaning and mending service.

Other shops include A Beauty Revolution, Holme Interiors, Little Bag Shop, Needles and Pins and The Sweet Cabin.

There are Easter events taking place:

Easter Bunny Hunt - running 11am - 3pm 30th March - 15th April. £1 per entry, collect entry form from Pottery Pals or Quench. Two bunnies will be hiding in units in the village, hunt to find the bunny that matches the one on your entry form to receive an instant prize and to also be entered into a draw to win one of the bunnies.

Easter Egg colouring competitio­n at The Handmade Craft Company and Enchanting

Glass Designs. Collect an entry form from either shop between 30th March - 15th April, 50p per entry. All returned coloured in or decorated eggs will be displayed in the two shops and put into a draw to win a prize.

Beginner’s Decoupage course at Absolutely Mintage on 15th March - 11 -2pm.

Things are constantly changing in the village to ensure there is always something fresh and new to see.

Come down and see the chipmunks or make use of the picnic tables and beautiful views with a picnic.

Most of the units are easily accessible and there are disabled toilet facilities available.

There is also plenty of free parking available so do pop along and enjoy fun for all the family.
