Appeal opens formemorial fund

-

AN APPEAL has been launched to raise £20,000 for a memorial.

This will be dedicated to James Furlong, Joe RitchieBennett and DavidWails, and also those who were harmed by the event, whether physically, mentally or psychologically.

Reading Borough Council has launched a Crowdfunder appeal in conjunction with the

Berkshire Community Foundation.

Funds raised will be used to support the families of the men who died, those who were injured in the attacks, and to put towards a permanent memorial.

The appeal will run until August 7, and already donations have been flooding in.

One person who has donated wrote: "I hope this might help in some way to heal the people affected by this appalling act".

And Reading borough deputy mayor, Cllr Rachel Eden, wrote: "We will not forget the victims or the survivors".
