Project Autumn Leaves

Project Autumn Leaves DESIGNED BY FAYE WHITTAKER A sprinkle of fairy dust The golden colours and softly crackling sound of autumn leaves brings seasonal magic to happy hearts everywhere F aye Whittaker’s much-loved All Our Yesterdays characters have a special place in the world of cross stitching. Part of their appeal is their timeless nature, as this exclusive design proves – Faye was inspired to put paint to canvas for us after seeing two siblings playing with leaves in the park. With their large hats obscuring their faces, you can imagine this being any young brother and sister from your own life – the old-fashioned attire and buttoned boots of the pair just adds to the charm. This special scene is worked in whole cross stitch with no fractionals to worry about and a half cross stitch background for a relaxed stitching experience. The background is left Fractional free! Factb Stitching Time Approx. 30 hours Type of Stitches Cross stitch, half cross stitch, backstitch, French knots Ease of Stitching Intermediate undefined, with backstitch only used on the playful pair and the leaves, putting them firmly at the heart of this panorama. As a framed piece this would be lovely placed in a conservatory, or finish it as a cushion to curl up with in your favourite comfy chair with a warming hot drink. Meet the designer Faye Whittaker Autumn is my favourite time of year! This is when I take my easel and paints to the local park to capture the golden leaves. I spotted these siblings enjoying throwing their leaves high and watching them fall, like fairy dust. fayewhittakerarts.com www.gathered.how/woxs The World of Cross Stitching 10
