It has to be the Faye Whittaker picture from issue 298 (Oct 2020). Autumn is my favourite time of year and the picture reminds me of a song called Forever Autumn, which I sing to my daughter.
The family dog, Abbey – she loves to curl up on my lap and she doesn’t grumble when I occasionally catch her on the head with my frame!
I am stitching ‘Portland Head Lighthouse’ by S Clarke, from Artecy Cross Stitch. It’s a real challenge as it has so many different colours, but I love lighthouses and it is one of my favourite places to visit.
Having the house to myself when the family have gone out, there’s a good film on in the background and time to concentrate on a current project.
My great-aunt from Australia stayed with me when she came over to visit England, 24 years ago. She did some cross stitching in the evenings a and I took an interest. As a present to say thank you, s she bought me a cross stitch k kit of a cottage with a lovely g garden. It was the best gift sh she could have given me, as I’ I’ve been hooked ever since.
The T Autumn design by Faye Whittaker W in issue 298.
Methodical, thoughtful, perfectionist.
I love it as it has a calming effect and it gives me a sense of achievement.
A family member or friend who’d like to learn how to stitch. I’d love to pass the hobby on, so that they could have years of enjoyment, like I have.
To be on the panel, email theworldofxstitching@immediate. co.uk – tell us your name, where you’re from and include a good-quality photo of yourself. Every panellist gets a preview of the magazine and a gift worth at least £30!
Flossie Mouse can’t resist cuddling up in this cosy Christmas mitten! Try stitching her on iridescent aida, then finish off with a matching red or green aperture card. This cutie is just the thing for sending warm wishes to a loved one this season.
