Winter Sunshine
The earth lay hard and cold and still, The sky was dark and grey, The wind blew cold and chilled our bones: A dreary winter’s day. But then a break across the clouds And soon the sun appeared, It quickly lifted hearts and minds And sadness disappeared.
The wind remained as strong and chill, The earth still seemed asleep, But suddenly we felt new hope, The road was not as steep. A little sunshine gives us joy, Just as a smile can do, So catch the sunshine when you can And share a smile or two!
