In May 2016 the iconic Flying Scotsman returned to Britain’s rails after an absence of over ten years and a £4.5m restoration in the care of the National Railway Museum (see article on pages 26-28). Our programme tells the whole story of Flying Scotsman, from its earliest days, through its decline and eventual salvation in the 1970s, to this year’s rebirth and restoration to public gaze in its famous Brunswick Green livery.
