Correct Waiting?

Sir: Regarding examples of idiotic political correctness (“Post Box”, Autumn 2016), a few years ago I was in a restaurant in a remote part of Scotland. I came across references in the restaurant menu to “your waitperson”. “Waiter” or, heaven forbid, “waitress”, were obviously considered beyond the pale. — KEITH FARR, CHOLSEY, OXFORDSHIRE.
