No, your eyes do not deceive you! If you look at the picture below you will see that The Ship and Shovell pub, near Charing Cross Station, London, is in two separate buildings on opposite sides of Craven Passage, a pedestrian walkway.

Fortunatel­y, the two halves of this Grade-ii listed hostelry are connected by a cellar underneath. Dating back to Victorian times, the inn takes its curious name from the Admiral of the Fleet, Sir Cloudesley Shovell.
