We can thank Michael Portillo for bringing the Bradshaw guides back to life via his Great Continental Railway Journeys on television and here is a reproduction of the 1853 version, complete with timetables, maps, illustrations and adverts. A remarkable publication, it dates back to a time when Prussia and Germany were two separate countries. Packed full of fascinating information it is also very reasonably priced for such a large volume. (400pp, hardback)
