This England

Nostalgia

- PAT CLAR

The glorious English countryside, Mountains, hills and valleys wide Moorland, meadows, rivers, streams, All part of my restless dreams.

The parks and dales and mossy dells, Primroses, daffodils and fragrant bluebells Villages, hamlets and seaside bays, Barns and byres and green byways.

Autumn leaves, churches, old village halls, The wooded glades where nightingale calls Summer rain and winter snow, To England my sad heart yearns to go.

Picturesque views and little tearooms, Moorlands where the heather blooms, Castles, cottages, manors of stone Fill my thoughts wherever I roam.
